Disability Golf

I'm fortunate enough to spend a lot of time with some very inspirational people.

Some are returning to Golf following an injury or diagnosis. Many are taking it up for the first time and doing something they never thought was possible.

Being part of their journey is something I'm rather grateful for.

Meet some of the Gang!

Mark

Stroke Survivor

In 2014, Mark Bowra MBE suffered a major stroke whilst driving back from London.

I met Mark in 2022 when he decided he'd like to get into Golf. He also brought a number of pals with him from the Bowra Foundation he set up for fellow brain injury survivors. They continue to brighten up my Friday morning to this day!

There's not enough space on talk about how inspiring Mark is, so I suggest you check out the link below.

Will

Spinal Injury Survivor

I only met Will late in December 2023.

Will used to dabble in a bit of golf with friends before an unfortunate accident in October 2018 left him paralysed from the chest down.

Will currently plays from a seated position...and hits it MILES!!

You need to check out my social media to see him!

We're also working on an exciting project together that could revolutionise his Golf!

Tommo

Multiple Sclerosis doesn't stop Tommo!

I was introduced to Tommo in 2010, when we took delivery of an amazing bit of kit, The Paragolfer. This enabled him to swing confidently at the ball without the fear of falling over.

Sadly, in 2017, the Paragolfer was beyond repair which left Tommo with the ultimatum of stopping or to brave it on 2 feet unaided.

I'm so happy he chose the latter and Tommo is now regularly competing in Disabled Golf Association events...and consistently on the podium!

Chester

Cerebral Palsy Warrior

This boy is trouble!

Regularly likes to hits balls at me when I'm setting him a new challenge on the driving range.

A "Go Fish" Champion on TopTracer at Ferndown Forest Golf Club.

Incredibly loud (and infectious) laugh.

The most fun you'll have in 30 minutes at a Golf Club!
